
2027 Legacy Awards
For the 2027 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the Order on or before April 1, 2024, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2024, is eligible to apply. The Elk must be a contiguous, dues paying Elk through March 31, 2027. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
The applicant must be a high school senior.

2027 Most Valuable Student
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2026 competition.
Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university.
The 2027 MVS application window opens August 1, 2026

This year the NLR Elks raised almost $10,000 dollars for annually renewable scholarship that were awarded to 14 local students.
Over the past 10 years, the NLR Elks #1004 has presented over 150 scholarships that totaled over $100,000.
Our local scholarship program awards scholarships annually based on community service, leadership, academic achievements and need.
The application deadline for the 2026-2027 Year has passed.
Applications for the 2027-2028 school year will open in early 2027.

The ASEA Merrit-Wentz scholarship contest awards one-year, $2,500 scholarships to Elk members, spouses of Elk Members, and children and grandchildren of Elk members who are college juniors and seniors at an accredited four-year American college or university. The qualifying Elk must be a member of an Arkansas Lodge.
The application deadline is Jul 19, 2026.
